In the 4.0.9 release of the Emerson ROC driver there was a change in how configuration data was stored from using the internal Ignition DB to utilizing the filesystem which is supported by the Ignition backup/restore operations.

The configuration is now stored in the data/modules/com.cirrus-link folder in the Ignition directory.

When upgrading the Emerson ROC driver module to a version greater than 4.0.8, the module installation will automatically pickup the previously stored configuration from the internal database and create the configuration files in the filesystem.

If you are using the Ignition System Restore functionality to restore an Ignition gateway backup file created with a version of the Emerson ROC driver prior to 4.0.8, you need to complete the System Restore on the Ignition installation before upgrading the Emerson ROC module.

The steps will be:

  1. Perform System Backup to backup all the user data inside the Gateway server
  2. Install new version of Ignition (if necessary)
  3. Restore the Ignition gateway backup file
  4. Install the Emerson ROC 4.0.10 driver module
