The first step to securing MQTT communication is to get a certificate from a Certificate Authority (CA). Ignition supports certificates from both your organization's internal CA, as well as commercial CAs (Verisign, GoDaddy, Comodo, etc.).

Ignition makes it simple to create the certificate signing request (CSR) to provide to a certificate authority.

Follow the steps in the Ignition Secure Communication (SSL/TLS) documentation to create a certificate signing request that can be provided to a Certificate authority (CA).
