MQTT Module Installation

To run Ignition with the MQTT Modules the following components must be installed:

• Java Runtime Environment
  • Required to run Ignition
• Ignition
  • Required base platform which supports the MQTT Modules
• MQTT Modules
  • Required for MQTT enablement of Ignition

Optionally these steps can be completed to run through some of the tutorials in this manual:

• Demo Project
  • Shows MQTT Engine metrics, allows for sending of commands to devices, seeing device data, and controlling MQTT Injector via a reference Ignition project
• Sparkplug Sample Code
  • Reference code showing how devices and data producers or control points can be implemented to work with Ignition and the MQTT modules via various programming languages

Once the components are installed MQTT Injector can be used to simulate data through Distributor and Engine using the Simulating Live Data guide or for going through the step by step tutorials.
